LSU gets 11th transfer to add to 2025 roster

BATON ROUGE - LSU is locked and reloading for the 2025 season as the transfer portal closes on Dec. 28.
Friday, the Tigers signed former Texas defensive tackle Sydir Mitchell. The 6-foot-6, 340 pound tackle comes to Baton Rouge with three years of eligibility.

LSU women's basketball beats Illinois-Chicago in Morrow's homecoming

CHICAGO - The LSU women's basketball team stayed undefeated Thursday night with a road victory over Illinois-Chicago.
The No. 5 Tigers beat the Flames 91-73 to improve to 14-0 this season.

LSU men's basketball players team up Raising Cane's to donate 100 bicycles

BATON ROUGE - Three LSU men's basketball players and Raising Cane's partnered up to donate 100 bicycles to kids in Baton Rouge.
Trace Young, Cam Carter, and Curtis Givens and Raising Cane's helped give away bikes and helmets to Wednesday to members of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Louisiana.
The event is part of Raising Cane's initiative to give away 2,500 bikes and helmets to students across the country this year.

Southern women's basketball picks up 2nd win of season

BATON ROUGE - The Southern women's basketball team handled Jarvis Christian on Sunday.
The Jaguars beat the Bulldogs 83-47 at the F.G. Clark Activity Center. Southern improves to 2-9 this season.
Taniya Lawson led Southern with 20 points. Tionaa Lidge added 12 points for the Jaguars.
Southern travels to Chicago to play DePaul on Tuesday.

Dunham's comeback effort falls short, Tigers lose heartbreaker in state title game

NEW ORLEANS - The Dunham football team's undefeated season ended Friday night.
The Tigers failed to convert on 4th and goal from the three-yard line with under a minute left, and lost the Division III Select state championship game 31-28 to Catholic New Iberia. The Panthers now have three state championships in school history.
Dunham trailed 31-14 in the fourth quarter, but the comeback fell just short. The Tigers finish the season 13-1.

St. James falls in state title game to Sterlington

NEW ORLEANS - The St. James high school football team fell in Thursday night's Division III Non-Select state championship game.
The top-seeded Wildcats fell to Sterlington 35-28. St. James finishes the season 10-3.
