BATON ROUGE - Injuries had really piled up for LSU heading into their final non-conference game against McNeese. The blows just kept coming to the roster, star linebacker Whit Weeks fracturing his fibula being one and multiple other players on defense tearing their ACLs being another one.

Even quarterback Sam Leavitt was noticeably hobbled against Texas A&M, which head coach Lane Kiffin had said was due to a hamstring injury. So one of the main talking points for LSU going into their game against McNeese was whether or not Coach Kiffin would sit his starters, something the Tigers' head coach didn't shut down the possibility of.

Yet the Tigers did indeed bring out their starters against the Cowboys for almost the entire first half as they built up a massive lead, and ended up winning 63-14.

Coach Kiffin was apparently asked if he wanted to run the clock for the second half, but Kiffin declined.

"I don't believe in that," said Kiffin. "You play the game, and we decide when the game is over by the way that we play... I told the guys that we don't do that"

It was against an FCS opponent, but the LSU ground game really seemed to find another gear against McNeese. The Tigers ran for 367 yards on nearly seven yards per attempt. Harlem Berry, who started the season barely seeing any touches at all in the Tiger offense, led the way with 125 yards and a touchdown.
