ROSEDALE, La. - Good things happen when North Iberville's Jeremy Favorite gets the ball. Good things like five touchdowns and over 200 rushing yards, for example.

Favorite has been a staple of the North Iberville program since its return to the varsity level in 2024. The speedy running back had racked up more than three thousand total yards during his sophomore and junior seasons.

But heading into his senior year, Favorite can't help but feel underwhelmed.

"I thought it was going to be harder, to be honest, but it hasn't been that hard," said Favorite.

Getting Favorite the ball has become something of a science for the Bears. North Iberville head coach Steven Thomas uses all sorts of ways to get his running back his touches.

"We put him out on pass routes. Quick arrows, bubbles, things like that to try to get him the ball, just to get him out in space so he can go do what he does. When you have your horses, you use them. When you have a thoroughbred, you want to win the Triple Crown."

Even without a large surplus of touches, Favorite can still make a difference in a game. Just last week against Capitol, he had just 10 carries. He scored a touchdown on five of them.

"I'm so quick. People don't know where I'm gonna go," said Favorite. "People try to guess, but they guess wrong, and it's over with."

Favorite's had some offers to play Division One college ball, but he remains uncommitted. With the way he's been playing, his coach believes that could change soon.

"That's the beautiful thing about it," said Thomas. "When you put up those kinds of numbers, they're like, ' Oh, let's look at this kid and see what's going on with him. I expect to have more phone calls about him."
