Gypsy Rose Blanchard issues statement following the death of partner Ken Urker
LAFOURCHE PARISH — Gypsy Rose Blanchard has issued a statement following the death of her partner, Kenan “Ken” Urker, who was found dead in his Raceland home on Thursday, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a residence on Double H Drive around 6:15 p.m. and discovered Urker’s body on his 34th birthday, The Advocate reported.
Blanchard reportedly sent Urker a birthday text earlier in the day that went unanswered. Her brother, Dylan, later found Urker unresponsive in his bed.
In a statement shared with People magazine on Friday, Blanchard expressed suspicion that Urker died of a drug overdose.
“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” Blanchard said. “He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
Blanchard and Urker first connected while she was serving time for her role in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Urker proposed in October 2018, but the couple split and reunited multiple times over the years. They reconciled in April 2024 and welcomed their daughter, Aurora, eight months later.
