Livingston Parish president joins annual Amite River Expedition with other local, state leaders
LIVINGSTON — Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte joined other local and state leaders on the annual Amite River Expedition to discuss flood risk management.
The expedition takes officials along the Lower Amite River, allowing them to see where drainage needs to be improved.
"During the expedition, I was able to provide an update on Livingston Parish's efforts to remove accumulated silt from the Amite River to improve its capacity and flow, followed by planned improvements to the weir," Delatte said on Facebook.

Delatte added that there is a lot of work ahead, but opportunities like the expedition make it easier for leaders across parish lines to work together.
