BATON ROUGE - Madison Prep took down U-High 38-21, and St. Amant beat Liberty 60-0 on Thursday to start week two of the high school football season.

At Memorial Stadium, the U-High Cubs struck first when Corbin Odell rushed in the first touchdown of the night. The Chargers would find an answer when Jakobe Sanders connected with Landon Johnson for a score. U-High still led at that point 7-6.

The Chargers would have the 14-7 lead at halftime after Domonic Harvey caught a touchdown pass. Madison Prep would pile on the scoring in the second half to get the win.

Over at The Pit, St. Amant showed no mercy to the Liberty Patriots after getting out to a 20-0 lead in just the first quarter. That opening quarter was capped off by an 80-yard touchdown run by Jourden Hickerson in the final minute.

The Gators would double that score just halfway into the second quarter by leading 40-0.

Week two of the high school season continues on Friday, and the Sports2 team will have the highlights on the Friday Night Blitz.
