Plaquemine High School now using a digital hall pass that can track student movement
PLAQUEMINE — Plaquemine High School will be implementing a digital hall pass system to monitor students' movement throughout the school day.
Starting on Oct. 12, SmartPass will be required for all students at Plaquemine High School. The app will allow staff to track how long a student has been out of the classroom and their movement throughout the school.
Students will access the app through their school-issued iPad. Parents and guardians will also have the opportunity to create a SmartPass account to track their students' movement throughout the school day.
Plaquemine High School advises parents to make sure students arrive at school each day with a fully charged a iPad to help ensure a smooth transition into the new hall pass.
"Having this information will help us ensure that students are where they need to be — in the classroom," Plaquemine High School principal Nick McIntosh said in a statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday.
