Woman arrested in connection with insurance fraud investigation
BATON ROUGE — A 49-year-old woman was arrested in connection with insurance fraud involving a car fire along I-110 North near the Capitol Access Road exit in Baton Rouge on Friday, according to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office.
On April 13, the Baton Rouge Fire Department, along with the Baton Rouge Police, responded to a car fire on the side of I-110 around 5:16 a.m. involving 49-year-old Chastity Lewis.
The Louisiana Department of Insurance later contacted the State Fire Marshall in reference to an insurance claim Lewis allegedly filed for a 2011 Nissan, with investigators determining the insurance claim to be fraudulent.
Lewis was arrested in connection with the alleged fraud.
