BATON ROUGE — A woman was arrested for allegedly planning to burn a person's home down after repeatedly sending threatening messages to multiple people.

On Aug. 24, officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to Darryl Drive for a reported assault.

During the investigation, two victims told officers that the incident was part of an ongoing pattern involving 22-year-old Makayla Pitts, who, according to the victims, previously harassed them and others over the phone and through social media before allegedly escalating to "physical actions".

Pitts allegedly posted the two victims' addresses on social media, with the victims claiming that her vehicle was spotted multiple times in front of their residences. They told officers that she previously sent threatening texts and voice messages threatening them and their loved ones, including a threat to burn one of the victims' homes down.

Pitts attempted to use the name Maple Jones to conceal her identity, according to arrest records.

Investigators also learned of a previous incident that occurred on Aug. 18 where Pitts allegedly arrived at a person's home uninvited before damaging their property.

Pitts was arrested on Sunday on various charges, including communicating of false information of planned arson, stalking and unlawful communications and harassment.
