BATON ROUGE — Six people were displaced after a home in a neighborhood off Wooddale Boulevard caught fire. 

According to Baton Rouge Fire officials, the Belhaven Circle home caught fire around 5:37 p.m. Firefighters arrived shortly after to find heavy smoke coming from the home and three of the home's occupants standing outside safely. The other three occupants were not home, BRFD officials added.

By 5:55 p.m., the fire was contained to two bedrooms, but the rest of the home sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire. 

The Red Cross was contacted to help the six occupants displaced by the fire.
