BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge Police corporal who had previously been placed on leave amid a federal investigation into her has been arrested. 

BRPD Cpl. Joanell Robinson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on 20 counts each of trespassing against state computers and malfeasance in office.

According to arrest information, her charges were brought by the Attorney General's office. No additional details about the arrest have been made available. 

In February, WBRZ reported that Robinson, who worked for BRPD for 16 years, was placed on paid administrative leave from the department while the investigation was ongoing.

WBRZ has reached out to the BRPD regarding Robinson's current employment status, but we have not received a response.
