Extra school resource officers sent to Port Allen High after alleged threat tied to 'Cat in the Hat' trend
PORT ALLEN — There are extra school resource officers at Port Allen High School on Friday after a reported threat was made to campus.
A spokesperson for the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said that they responded to the school around 9:25 a.m. on Thursday in relation to an ongoing trend of "Cat in the Hat"-related images being spread on social media that appear to threaten violence at local schools.
Deputies then began investigating the circumstances around the threatening post. This is still ongoing, deputies noted.
