PLAQUEMINE — The Iberville Parish School Board has begun interviewing candidates to find its next superintendent.

The board spoke with Rebecca Johnson, Laura Roussel and Dr. Emily Martin in the first round of interviews.

Current Superintendent Louis Voiron plans to move into an advisory role before retiring next June.

One board member said there are specific school-related issues they want the next superintendent to address, though details were not provided.

The board will interview the final two candidates, Dr. Clarence Robinson and She-Keitra Matthews, tomorrow evening starting at 5 p.m.
