Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus to address suspension of US Representative primary election
BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus will hold a news conference on Monday, where it will address Gov. Jeff Landry's decision to suspend the primary election for the U.S. Representative race so that new congressional maps can be drawn following a Supreme Court decision.

The LLBC, made up of Black state representatives and state senators, said Landry's actions "have raised significant concerns regarding governance and the integrity of Louisiana’s voting process."
At Monday's news conference, "legislative members will outline their position, provide critical updates, and discuss the broader implications of these actions on voting rights and democratic principles in our state," the LLBC said. The Caucus will also share its next steps.
The election postponement came after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Louisiana's second majority Black congressional district was an unconstitutional gerrymander.
