Manship Theater joins Check Out Louisiana program as first performance venue
BATON ROUGE — Louisiana residents with a library card can now request free day passes to visit the Manship Theater at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge.
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser announced on Thursday on social media that the Manship Theater had been added to the state’s Check Out Louisiana Museums & Culture program.
The Check Out Louisiana program first launched in 2024 to promote residents exploring state parks and has since expanded.
“We are so excited to announce that the Manship Theater at Shaw Center for the Arts has joined the Check Out Louisiana Museums & Culture program!” Nungesser wrote. “This is the program's first performance venue, and we look forward to continuing to expand this program with more museums and cultural institutions as partners.”
The program allows library cardholders from participating parish library systems to reserve e-passes to several cultural centers across the state, including museums and historic sites.
