MORGAN CITY — A Morgan City man who pleaded guilty to second-degree rape of a juvenile among other charges following an investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations was sentenced to castration.

In November 2024, agents with the  Cyber Crime Unit received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

During the investigation, agents learned that 51-year-old Carrol Clark was uploading and downloading child sexual abuse material through the internet. Agents also interviewed Clark along with individuals who frequented his home and determined that he had sex with a juvenile girl inside the residence on multiple occasions.

Agents said Clark also produced explicit photographs and videos of the child. Clark was arrested on several charges, including second-degree rape, indecent behavior with a juvenile and pornography involving juveniles when the victim is under 13 years of age.

After pleading guilty, Clark was sentenced to 35 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

As part of his plea agreement, Clark agreed to undergo surgical castration administered by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
