BATON ROUGE — Oasis 7 opened in Baton Rouge's District 7 after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new hub is inside the Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and will connect residents with resources, educational programs and community support.

Twahna Harris said the goal is to make it a central space for families, seniors and residents across District 7.

"And we're excited that District Seven is excited about this opportunity so we're all benefiting so I'm excited I'm trying to keep my composure again," Twahna Harris said.

The hub center has a computer lab, library and game room.

It is still seeking partners and resources.
