PATTERSON — The fire chief in Patterson says that residents and travelers should not be alarmed when they see a controlled flare coming from a pipeline when passing near the Patterson Civic Center. 

The burn, Chief Scott Hutton says, will take place over the next few days during daylight hours. He added that this is scheduled maintenance to the pipeline. 

"There is no emergency or effect caused to travel or homes in the area," Hutton added.
