BATON ROUGE — Power has been restored to Southern University's Baton Rouge campus, the university said Thursday morning. 

The campus has been without power since Sunday, with the campus closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as shifting to remote operations for the rest of the week. 

With campus power restored, Facilities Services will begin transitioning Bethune, Grandison, Reed and White halls, which are currently operating on generators, back to the university's electrical system. This process will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, officials said, and noted that it is expected to take approximately three hours to complete.

During this period, there will be no electricity in these four buildings as generators are disconnected and the buildings are safely returned to campus power.

Wi-Fi access is currently available in T.T. Allain Hall, Pinchback Hall, the John B. Cade Library and the Horace W. Moody Intramural Center, the school noted.
