HAMMOND — Southeastern Louisiana University's Office of Military and Veteran Success hosted the second annual Memorial Stair Climb and Community Service for 9/11 Day as the nation marked the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11.

The event, hosted alongside SouthEastern University Police and Roomie's Pride Pantry, saw over 200 firefighters and community members climb 110 stories at Southeastern's University Center on Friday to honor the 343 New York City firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. 

Those who were physically unable to complete the stair climb served as volunteers at Southeastern's Sustainability Garden and Rommie's Pride Pantry.
