BATON ROUGE - The City of St. George and design firm LRK LLC reached an agreement in part of an ongoing lawsuit concerning the city's incorporation date and zoning requirements. 

During Wednesday's hearing, attorneys for the city and LRK submitted a joint stipulation deciding that part of the litigation trying to determine when the city was incorporated would be dismissed at this time, but could be brought back up in the future. 

The continuing legal proceedings will revolve around zoning regulations for a new 120,000 square foot veteran's outpatient clinic at Rieger Road and Pecue Lane. 

On Tuesday night, St. George City Council agreed to hold a public hearing on the proposed new vet clinic. That meeting to address the city's zoning requirements will be held Sept. 30. 

LRK attorney Loren Kleinpeter said that once the zoning ordinances are updated, the vet clinic can apply for a permit and begin construction.
