St. George residents can review the city's long-range growth plan before it goes to council

ST. GEORGE — The city of St. George is hosting a public open house for residents and business owners to review and give feedback on its draft 2050 Comprehensive Plan.

The event is set for Sept. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Specialty Events Building at the St. George Fire Protection District, 14100 Airline Hwy., St. George.

The open house marks the end of a year-long planning process that included four stakeholder dialogues, three online surveys and a series of focus groups.

The St. George 2050 Comprehensive Plan is a long-range document meant to guide the city's growth and investment decisions through 2050. It covers areas including housing, land use, parks and infrastructure.

At the event, attendees can explore the plan's Future Land Use Map and review goals and recommendations for growth through 2050. They can also learn how the city plans to prioritize early action items and put the plan's strategies into practice.After the open house, the plan will move forward for Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council review.
