Teenager shot, killed in drive-by at Scotlandville convenience store along Rosenwald Road
BATON ROUGE — A teenager killed in a drive-by shooting at a Scotlandville convenience store.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office said that 19-year-old Carlos Brumfield was found shot Monday evening around 4:47 p.m. at the Scotland Convenience Store on Rosenwald Road.
Brumfield died at the scene.
Baton Rouge Police Department detectives later learned that a group of people drove by the store and started shooting Brumfield.
Court records show that Brumfield had a lengthy criminal record of burglary, illegal carrying of a firearm at a parade and possession of a stolen firearm. He was ordered to wear an ankle monitor following a November 2025 arrest on burglary and illegal carrying of a weapon charges.
Most recently, Brumfield was due in court in September but failed to appear. He had not been seen by law enforcement since.
