WALKER — A Walker woman was arrested for government benefits fraud and injuring public records after failing to disclose her marriage on Medicaid applications, arrest documents said.

The Louisiana Department of Justice said that Karen Morris, 44, received over $52,000 in approved benefits from Oct. 2023 to Sept. 2025 for her children.

Officials said Morris failed to identify her husband as a household member, failed to disclose his income and said she lived at a Holden residence despite living in Walker.

Arrest documents say that Morris "acknowledged she failed to disclose this information to LDH and reported no changes when questioned during a Medicaid renewal" in a Oct. 22 interview.

Morris was booked on three counts of government benefits fraud - false statement on application, government benefits fraud - knowingly conceals or fails to disclose any material fact and three counts of injuring public records.
