BRPD: More than 37 pounds of cocaine seized in traffic stop

BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police officers found more than 37 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Tuesday.
BRPD said officers stopped 42-year-old Worthington West's vehicle along Jackson Avenue, just off Greenwell Springs Road, and smelled marijuana coming from his car.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found 17 kilograms of cocaine, seven grams of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette and a handgun.
West was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, illegal carrying of firearms with drugs, possession of marijuana and illegal window tint.
