Baton Rouge - The No. 2 LSU Softball team hosted No. 3 Texas Tuesday morning at Tiger Park to defend their undefeated record.
The Tigers got things started early with a 5-0 lead after it was capped off by a 3 RBI double from designated player Kelley Lynch.
LSU's coaching staff came up with a specific plan to face Texas' defense, and the Tigers executed.
"Yea, Howard, Bryce, Sandra had a really good plan. They worked really hard on it, and our team has done such a really good job of, we call it staying on script. Buying into what they're asking them to do. Staying on script. Attacking the pitches they're supposed to attack. They've been so bought in so that's really fun to see and they executed the plan perfectly," Head Coach Beth Torina said.
LSU is now 23-0 on the season and the only undefeated team in the country. They host Ole Miss for their SEC home opener beginning Saturday at 6 p.m.
