BATON ROUGE — The Charity Christian Center on O'Neal Lane hosted a back-to-school giveaway Saturday morning to help the community get ready for school.
Guests were able to pick up backpacks filled with supplies, free uniforms and shoes.
Pastor Linda Bradford said she wanted to give parents a helping hand.
"We hate to see parents going in their pockets spending so much money when school starts. They have three kids or four kids. So we're here to help the community," Bradford said. "I'm grateful to have supplies because school supplies are high. It's very expensive."
Children also played games and enjoyed a meal while visiting the church.
