DENHAM SPRINGS – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is beginning a $1.7 million pavement improvement project on LA 1026/Juban Road in Livingston Parish, with construction scheduled to begin Aug. 24.

The project covers a 2.65-mile stretch of LA 1026 from LA 16 to Forrest Delatte Road, south of I-12. The work will repair damaged pavement, improve drainage and provide a new asphalt driving surface along the corridor.

Initial construction activities will focus on pavement repairs and drainage work. Motorists can expect alternating nighttime lane closures as work progresses, with at least one lane remaining open to traffic.

The project was accelerated to bidding through funding from the 2025 Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund, allowing the department to advance the improvements sooner than originally anticipated.

Construction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, weather permitting.

The initial lane closure notification, including detours and closure hours, is available here.
