BAKER — Superintendent of the City of Baker School System J.T. Stroder provided an update after a Baker High Student required medical attention on Friday after allegedly consuming an unknown substance.

According to the Baker Police Department, a juvenile at Baker High School called 911 on Friday after consuming an edible that the student said was laced.

On Monday, Superintendent Stroder said that it has not been determined what the substance was or where it was obtained or consumed. Stroder also said that there is no confirmed information establishing that the substance originated from the school or was obtained on campus at this time.

The Baker School System is working with Helix Community Schools along with local law enforcement as additional information is gathered.

Out of an abundance of caution, Baker High School students are asked not to bring candy onto the campus until further notice.
