BATON ROUGE – A Denham Springs man pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges connected to a scheme targeting a federal pandemic assistance program, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Louisiana said Tuesday.

Muncy McAllister, 39, pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud. According to U.S. Attorney Kurt Wall, McAllister tried to get over $177,000 in Economic Injury Disaster Loans. McAllister attempted to obtain funds from a federal pandemic assistance program by submitting false and fraudulent applications.

McAllister submitted two fraudulent EIDL applications in August 2020. Both applications falsely claimed he had high business revenue, multiple employees and had no recent felony convictions.
