PLAQUEMINE — The Iberville Parish Government announced improvements made to its drainage system on Friday.

Crews worked to open drainage along Bayou Long and Millie Canal by removing obstructions and improving water flow through waterways.

"Keeping our canals and bayous clear helps our drainage system work more effectively, especially during periods of heavy rainfall," officials said. "It’s another way we’re working every day to maintain and improve infrastructure throughout Iberville Parish."
