BATON ROUGE — Louisiana scratch-off players took home over $18 million in cash prizes in August, including a $135,000 winning Play Oh! ticket sold in LaPlace, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation announced on Tuesday morning. 

Fast Play players also took home over $900,000 and draw game wins reached over $9 million in winnings.

The month’s Powerball wins reached a total of $1,471,759, largely due to a $1.04 billion jackpot hit on Aug. 12 in Illinois. Louisiana saw a few big winners during the month, including a match-4 + PB with Power Play ticket worth $100,000 and two match-4 + PB with Power Play tickets worth $150,000.

Players purchasing the Power Play option—giving Powerball players the chance to increase any non-jackpot prize—won $1,002,798 of the total sum.

August Mega Millions drawings produced $388,985 in winnings. Lotto’s monthly total winnings were $618,962, with 127 match-5 prizes won, equaling $127,000.

Easy 5 total winnings came in at $260,191 with $85,033 of the total being won on ezmatch™, an instant-win option available for an additional $1.

In total, draw-style game winnings from drawings held in August totaled $9,729,605. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the winnings from those tickets.In addition to the $16,512,241 in scratch-off cash prizes paid during August, players also claimed $1,676,424 in free-ticket prizes for a total of $18,188,665 in scratch-off winnings.

Players of the Lottery’s instant-win terminal Fast Play games saw $949,548 in winnings in August.
