ADDIS — A car wash fundraiser in Addis is raising money for people affected by ALS.

Two dollars from every paid wash at participating Pitstop locations is going to Team Gleason, an organization that helps families living with ALS.

ALS attacks the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement. The disease eventually affects a person's ability to walk, speak, eat and breathe.

For General Manager Missy Gore, the mission is personal. Her mother was diagnosed with ALS in 2022.

Pitstop says the campaign involves 16 locations in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Tomorrow is the last day and the campaign is almost at its fundraising goal.
