WATCH: Officials make announcement on future of hockey in Baton Rouge at Raising Cane's River Center
BATON ROUGE — The next phase of hockey in Baton Rouge will be announced on Wednesday morning.
The announcement will be made at the Raising Cane's River Center at 10 a.m. Officials at the downtown arena said they are confident that the announcement "will mark an exciting new chapter for Baton Rouge." Mayor-President Sid Edwards will be in attendance.
The future of hockey in Baton Rouge has been up in the air for the past few weeks, with rumors swirling that the Zydeco would be leaving the Capital City after only a few years in Baton Rouge.
No official confirmation came one way or the other about the fate of hockey at the River Center, with River Center officials only saying they worked hard to keep the team in downtown Baton Rouge.
