MARINGOUIN — A woman died early Thursday morning after a tree fell onto a camper in Maringouin.

According to the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Sparks Road around 4:30 a.m. on reports of a tree that fell into a camper trailer. 

When they arrived, they found 33-year-old Cindy Perritt, who was later pronounced dead by the Iberville Parish Coroner's Office. 

Acadian Ambulance, Maringouin Fire Department and Maringouin Police Department officials also responded to the scene.
